Frequently Asked Questions

My Autentica has been stored for 3 months — how do I restart it safely?

Before brewing, run two full tanks of clean water through the machine without coffee — first to flush any stale water from the circuit, second to verify water flow and temperature are normal. If the machine has been stored in a hot environment, the seals may have dried and the first flush may produce cloudy water. Run a descaling cycle before the first brew, even if the machine was descaled before storage.

The Perfecta is making good coffee but the grounds are coming out very wet and clumped — is this normal?

Wet, clumped grounds on the Perfecta usually indicate the brew unit is not compressing the puck firmly enough — often because the seals inside the brew unit have worn. A brew unit service (cleaning and seal replacement) typically resolves this. Very wet grounds can also stain the drip tray and grounds container quickly, so address it promptly.
